7 Stereotypes Which Need To Be Broken In 2017

It is another blog that was published a few years ago. Just reproducing it once again so that I can refresh my good old days and desires.

Human Beings are social animals which live in a group and society. Whilst the society has set up some rules, which are sometime enforced on us. We are at the end of 2016 and it is high time that we break the stereotype set up by the society.

Films and Television shows are meant for entertainment

Its a sorry state that today the standard of serials telecast on the TV is falling day by day. TV today has been playing a major role in encouraging sexism in the name of comedy and objectifying women.

A woman on her periods

Periods are a natural process. It reflects her capability to give birth to a new life. It is not something that one needs to avoid talking about or be ashamed about.

A child needs both parents

Paternity leave or the role of fathers in the upbringing of a child is not given importance under “Indian Culture”.  Law  and mindset both have  to be changed with respect to the role of father in Children.

Follow your dreams and passions

You may be a hot shot corporate but it is never late to pursue your dreams  and passion. Don’t kill your dreams because of the society stereotypes.

She is also equally working hard at office. She does not want your sympathy just wants to be respected for her work.

6. It’s ok to walk out of an Abusive marriage

The Divorce rates in India are increasing. Is the western influence to be blamed for it ? May be it is just that people prefer to walk out of the abusive marriage instead of dealing the stress for dowry.

7. Foothpaths are meant for walking and not for driving

It may not be a stereotype  but one of  the habits that we need to give up because the pavements are meant for walking and not for bikes to overtake in case of traffic.
