A world beyond covid-19

On 5th of January 2020 outbreak of virus was reported in Wuhan by WHO, and on 12th of January China publicly revealed the genetic sequence of COVID-19. On 13th of January first case of Covid-19 was reported outside China, in Thailand. It didn’t take much time for virus to arrive in India. On 30th January 2020 India confirmed its first COVID-19 case in Kerala. The numbers slowly and steadily increasing day by day. And on 24th of March 2020 the Government of India declared Lockdown in India. Today we are in month of August 2021, waiting and preparing for third wave and more waves anticipated. Covid 19 also took a huge toll on the economic growth worldwide. Financially it has become difficult for countries to function. So can we say it’s going to take a lot many years for Covid-19 to be gone. But on contrary vaccinations is also improving day by day. More people are getting vaccinated. Almost 10 crore people are full vaccinated in India but that is only 7.6% of total population. And worldwide 144crore people are fully vaccinated and that is 14.7% of total population.

It might still appear that it will take years for covid-19 to go, and people have adapted this digital world that it is difficult for one to go back to natural life. Many companies are actually thinking to go digital to save on lease cost, entertainment cost, food cost etc. Companies are allowing their employees to work from home permanently as not only it have proven to be less costly but also more productive for employees.

Covid-19 has already created a lot of challenges for world to face. Decrease in capital growth, capital accumulation and increased consumption of goods, services, and travel.

Covid has made us way too comfortable as in working from home with their own comfort or online education, online shopping. One can argue, more lazy than comfortable. It would be difficult to get back to normal job while travelling in Mumbai’s local trains or buses. It will make us more tired as compared to old times as we are no more used to it. Or one might never know we can stick to online ways to get our work done.

Covid-19 has definitely given rise to as many digital platforms there can be and has given boost to so many new businesses but also have taken a lot many more jobs as business as well. Covid-19 has given a new perspective on living life in a different way. It has made us much more independent than we were whether it is cooking our own food or doing home chores or making money in hard times. In India whether it is middle-class family or upper-class family, all of them have house help. But in this pandemic, we realised one is capable of doing their own work without them.

In this pandemic few have lost their loved ones but there are also people who feel they were trapped in their house during pandemic. So many are desperate to travel the world after Covid. This will increase the traveling or tourism business around the world too.

Currently a life beyond Covid-19 is quite far and one might not know what more Covid-19 has to bring. But whatever it has to bring we will be well equipped to the change and try to live in the best possible way.
