ANIMAL CRUELTY

Every individual has a moral obligation to treat animals with respect and compassion. Countless cats, dogs, and other animals suffer and die every day at the hands of those who are supposed to protect and care for them. Many animals face physical aggression, emotional abuse, and life-threatening neglect on a regular basis. The staggering number of animal cruelty incidents recorded every day is only the tip of the iceberg—the vast majority of cases go unreported. Animal cruelty charges, unlike violent crimes against people, are not compiled by state or federal agencies, making it difficult to estimate how often they are. Poachers slaughter animals cruelly for their skin, fur, and teeth. This has resulted in the loss of several animal species, which has had an impact on our planet’s ecological equilibrium. Cruelty to animals has become an issue of international concern. This must be addressed as quickly as possible and completely eradicated.

We are cruel to animals for two reasons: one to meet our wants, and the other to have fun. We use animals for their fur, skin, meat, teeth, and horns, among other things. We use colours on them that are harmful to their skin at times, and we also burn crackers without thinking about it. The owner of the tea store occasionally spills hot water on the street dogs, which is a great example of animal cruelty. Some people purchase exotic pets without knowing how to care for them. This results in pet neglect, which leads to them being abandoned on the streets. As a result, there is an increase in the number of stray animals who are subjected to various forms of purposeful cruelty. Animals are used by a number of industries to test medicines and cosmetics. Animals, too, are frequently mistreated and compelled to perform circus tricks and other activities for our amusement. The only way to remove animals off the streets is to build suitable animal shelters where they will be fed. It is also vital to raise effective awareness. Animal hides are utilised in the textile industry. Exotic materials are made from their skin and body hairs for humans to use. Animal teeth, horns, skin, and hair are utilised to manufacture home decor items that we use to beautify our houses without thinking about the anguish that these animals go through to provide us with these luxuries.

The cosmetics industry is another area that contributes to animal cruelty. We always check to see if a cosmetic product is safe for our skin before purchasing it. However, we are oblivious to the fact that many items are tested on animals before they reach us. Chemicals are frequently injected into or applied to the skin of animals. These are sometimes put to the test on their eyes as well. In rare cases, if the test fails, the animal will die as well. Itching and burning are also common side effects of these examinations. However, we, the humans, continue to torture animals for our own ends.

Our evolving medical science also plays a significant part in tormenting animals and demonstrating our harshness to them. Animals are chosen to be used in drug trials. They are then injected with the trial drugs, oblivious to their discomfort. For the experiments, they are frequently kept at subzero temperatures. Animals in zoos and circuses are also mistreated. The location where they are kept is not regularly cleaned. Furthermore, the feeding procedures are not particularly hygienic. These lead to a variety of diseases and, in many cases, death.

Every day, a large number of animals and birds are sold as pets. These animals are either confined in cages or are chained. They are frequently beaten. If merchants find street dogs roaming around, they are frequently beaten. Many cows can be observed rummaging through waste heaps in search of nourishment. Many animals are hit by fast moving traffic on a regular basis. These are only a few examples of animal cruelty.

But enough is enough now! Humans, who are considered the most intelligent species on the planet, must quit gambling with the lives of these helpless creatures. We must speak out against animal cruelty and raise our voices. To preserve animals, new stringent laws must be enacted. Every school should teach kids about animal respect and protection. Parents should treat animals with respect and compassion, and educate their children to do the same. One thing we must always remember is that we cannot survive without animals. Everything on this planet serves a certain purpose. Animals aid in the maintenance of our ecosystem’s balance. We must make a decision to save our ecosystem, mother Earth, and animals.
