Article 19 of the Indian Constitution and Its people.

Article 1 9 of the Constitution of India states that Protection of certain rights regarding freedom of speech-
1- All citizens shall have the right
2-to freedom of speech and expression;
3- to assemble peaceably and without arms;
4- to form associations or unions;
5-to move freely throughout the territory of India;
6- to reside and settle in any part of the territory of India; and
7- omitted
8- to practise any profession, or to carry on any occupation, trade or business.

Freedom of Speech and expression is broadly understood as the notion that every person has the natural right to freely express themselves through any media and frontier without outside interference, such as censorship, and without fear of reprisal. But at what cost? 99% of the news that is shared on any social media platform is fake. People nowadays are defaming people and when asked mostly justify it by arguing their right under Article 1 9.

Article 19, in my opinion, is a relatively very hot topic. Not only I am talking of the current time but it has always been a hot topic in our country. People raise their voices against some wrong, (which for that instance they feel, is wrong), and justify it by showing their rights under Article 19 that they have the right to speak, to protest and to do everything but do they know what that right is all about? They do not see or know the other side of it. What about all the restrictions that it imposed on all of us?

Let’s talk about the recent protest of farmers in our country against the bill. I don’t have any idea what triggered them to sit for protest for so long for a bill that is surely gonna help them in the coming future but I don’t appreciate their act in the process. Surely, they have the right to protest, to put forth their opinion and to ask for answers from the government but they don’t have the right to retaliate, to make our auspicious “Republic Day” a “Black Republic Day”. Our Constitution doesn’t approve that. And there any justification for their actions wouldn’t be appreciated on my end.

People very conveniently just use the Constitution for their purpose. Where they want they just bring different articles justifying their actions, their speeches, their everything. But dude our Constitution is not all about that specific section that you picked and used for your self-interest.
Sometimes(in my opinion) opposition takes advantage of a certain big protest and act of people against some policy of the ruling party. Yeah, they have a vital and prominent rule behind such action.

I don’t know any remedy, any solution for these all but surely it is now at the root of our so-called Democracy. So it won’t get off real quick, it will take time. Many famous personalities put forth their support for farmers via Twitter including Human Right Activists Greta Thunberg and famous Pop singer Rihanna. That’s a big question on our country’s Sovereignty. People have to understand certain things, they should stand for what that’s right, they shouldn’t be just provoked, they should get in-depth of things. It’s high time that India should be Democratic in real means and should not let any foreign power take zest in our country’s interest.
