ABSTRACT

Girls plays a prominent (Important) role in the cultural, social, political, and economic life of a country. Our constitution gives great importance to the equality of status and opportunities for girls. This article emphasis on how girl’s education can be enhanced through imparting information to all in various meaningful ways. Girls education should be progressively considered in relation to national development. In this Article BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO scheme has been briefly highlighted. Also the aim of this article is to give some information to all readers, author regarding problems, challenges, and constitutional , social and legal provisions of girls. The national policy of education (1986) states, “the education of girls should receive emphasis not only on grounds of social justice, but also because it accelerates social transformation. “My Article wants to point out here that there cannot be educated men without educated girls. Girls should also be educated in today time.

INTRODUCTION

Prime Minister Narender Modi has inaugurated a scheme for girls called Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. It is to save the girl child and educate the girl child all over India. The program was started on the 22nd of January, 2015 at Panipat. This scheme was initiated first especially in Haryana because this state has a very low female sex ratio (775/1000) all over the country. It has been effectively applied in a hundred districts across the country. It is to improve the status of girls in the country. Girls also have equally right to enjoy, live, study and even enjoy every phase of their life. Noone have right to snatch this right from girls Because without girl no man have value or we can say without girl importance of man also decrease. As we all know girl play equal role in our society in every field so we should save or protect girl from harmful things.

AIMS OF BETI BACHAAO BETI PADHAAO SCHEME

The aim of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is to stop the drop in girl child sex ratio.This scheme aim to stop killing girl child in womb. Therefore, it will encourage women’s empowerment in order to improve women status in the country. There are few points or initiative which help in raising the status of girl child in society these are:-

1.) Women and Child Development

2.) Health and Family Welfare

3.) Human Resource Development

REASONS FOR BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO INITIATIVE :-

1.) Low child Sex Ratio.

2.) Crime against women increased.

OBJECTIVE OF BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO SCHEME

1.) Prevent female infanticide.

2.) Develop new schemes and work collaboratively to ensure that every girl child is secured and protected.

3.) Ensure every girl child gets a quality education.

4.) To stop the discrimination of the girl child and practice of sex determination test.

5.) To ensure the survival and protection of girls.

6.) To ensure the participation of girls in education and other areas.

7.) Mass campaign for advancement of girls in all areas.

8.) To provide consultancy services in the areas of girls’ education and development.

9.) To act as a catalyst in promoting innovations and progress of girls’ education in the country.

DIFFICULTIES IN IMPLEMENTATION OF BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO SCHEME

1.) Social abuses and orthodox rituals like female foeticide, Sati, child marriage and domestic abuse obstruct the due execution of this scheme.

2.) The government machinery and the police are, however, to get the magnitude of women atrocities seriously. This also weakens the effective implementation of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

3.) The mindset of people remains conservative besides the numerous campaigns spreading awareness among people.

4.) The scheme needs civic body support to achieve the objectives of the scheme.

5.) The Dowry system is the main obstacles in the successful implementation and impact of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme

STEPS TO IMPROVE EDUCATION AND STATUS OF GIRL CHILD IN INDIA

There are a number of steps that could be taken to improve education and the right of a girl child in India. Creating awareness is very vital in the promoting girls’ education in India or any part of the world for that matter. Individuals and organizations can take it upon their selves to educate the populace on the importance of sending their female children to school and how it would be of benefit for them in the long run. There are a lot of options for creating this awareness. The options include, but not limited to, through media houses such as television and radio stations as well as newspapers and magazines, through the placing of stickers in strategic places and by going house to house to educate individuals about why they should send their female children to school. The aim would be to get across to as many people as possible and give them the requisite information that would encourage them to educate their children. Government policy is another vital means through which girls’ education in India can be carried out. The government policies should enforce that parents must send their children to school at a particular age. It should also make primary and secondary education compulsory for every child, irrespectiveare a number of steps that could be taken to improve education and the rights of a girl child in India. Based on this, punishments and sanctions could be meted out to parents who prevent their children from going to school. The sanctions would come in handy in forcing parents who do not want to send their children to school, especially their female children, to send them to school irrespective.

CONCLUSION

The women of today are very conscious of their social, economic, intellectual, mental, and spiritual development. Their role, both within the home and outside the home, has become an important feature of the social and economic life of the country. It will become more significant. Therefore, they cannot be deprived of education, at any cost and greater attention should be paid to the problems of training and development of women. The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme is an initiative by the Government of India to address the issues revolving around girl children in India. This initiative under the scheme have started giving fruit as the level of awareness among the people is increasing.Therefore, people now have a serious impact to work for girl child upliftment in society. The success of this scheme will add tremendously to the economic growth of the country. This is due to the fact that India cannot afford to have a large part of its population remain neglected.
