Balancing Life – Pragy Jain

Candidate Number: – 03

Pragy Jain, 24, Advocate based out of Delhi

What are your official working hours and How many hours do you work?

I did not have fixed working hours as I practice under an independent attorney.

How much me time do you get in a day? What do you do in your me time.

On a working day, I did not get much me time and most of the me time that I get is at night. For most of the me time, I try to read some novels (which are not related to law), update myself whit what is happening around the world and if there is enough time, I love to watch fiction series on Netflix.

Are you more productive, when you work for longer hours?

Well, I feel that working more hours tend to make me less productive rather than making me more productive. I have always believed that it does not matter whether you are working for 4 or 10 hours. What matters the most is that you should only be thinking about what you are doing in that time and that’s what makes your time most productive. So I tend to work for few house but with full concentration and without any distraction.

Does working for long hours mean better productivity and better quality of work.

As already said, the quantity does not matter. What matters is the quality. So, working hours doesn’t matter. Rather, the quality of the work is what matters the most.

One thing that you would like to change about your work routine.

Since, I do not get much of me time, the foremost thing which I would love to change is flexibility in my timings so that I can get time for other things as well.

I will be talking to and interviewing around 1 lakh people in the coming 2021 and publish their interview regarding their opinion on glamourising Over Work.
