Balancing Life – Devrupa Bhattacharya

Candidate 04: – Devarupa Bhattacharyya, 22, Law Student based out of Guwhati, Assam

What is your official working hour? And how many days do you work?

I am a student and haven’t start working yet. As a student I used to read 6 to 7 hours continuously in a day when it’s holidays. But in college going days I managed to study 3 to 4 hours in a day.

How much me time do you get in a day? What do you do in your me time.

I can manage to have mee time whenever I feel exhausted, frustrated. And during this mee time I like to dance in my current favorite songs.

Are you more productive, when you work for longer hours?

No, long working hour without any break would become monotonous and boring. We can’t  think or do productive things when our body and mind are not in sinks.

Does working for long hours mean better productivity and better quality of work.

Working for long hours doesn’t mean better productivity for me because I believe we are human beings we need rest hours or breaks. We are not machines after all. For being productive our brain needs to think innovative ways and its possible when its stable.

One thing that you would like to change about your work routine.

As I am a student now so I am the owner of myself so I can do whatever I want but yes when I will join as a employee somewhere. I would love to have some mee time, have some break so that I can maintain my truthfulness towards the employer and to my profession.

I have always been against Glorifying Over Work and therefore, in the year 2021, I have decided to launch this campaign “Balancing Life”and talk about this wrong practice, that we have been following since last few years. I will be talking to and interviewing around 1 lakh people in the coming 2021 and publish their interview regarding their opinion on glamourising Over Work.
