BRAIN DRAIN “yes, that sounds interesting because the name rhymes and is interesting, but what it says is not that interesting. Brian Drain is essentially the migration of talented geniuses and young minds from their home countries to countries in search of a better life, education and a better job. When the qualified minds of a particular country are drawn to good pay, benefits, better opportunities and a higher standard of living in another country, they use all their knowledge and skills to serve and in a sense develop the country and leave their homeland. behind. It is a remarkable fact that a large number of doctors, engineers and other professionals in developed countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom are Indian. While this is quite a remarkable achievement and one of which we can be proud, at the same time it forces us to reflect on what these professionals would have achieved in their respective fields if they had remained in India.
The brain drain occurs when people move out and settle abroad for their work.Brain drain can be a vital loss for a nation as it loses its share of knowledgeable people and powerful citizens who possess creativity and skilled people who travel to other countries to bring their skills, achievements and talents. to which they would otherwise have contributed significantly to the nation’s economy.


The only way to limit the brain drain is to provide a better standard of living in the country itself by providing quality education in schools and universities where smart and competitive students do not have to seek quality education in other countries, increase employment opportunities with good pay, investing much more in institutions, hospitals, new technologies and devices so that young talents and minds can exploit them and thus create employment opportunities. Improve the quality of our universities and bring them on an equal footing with universities in Europe and America. By abolishing the quota system and giving opportunities to those who really deserve it on the basis of merit. With this reservation system, the less intelligent people have the opportunity to let the talented people behind the doors of the university prove their talents.


We now know how much the brain drain is of a loss to the country’s economy, but the brain drain helps the individual more than the society as the individual grows financially. The individual opens up to the number of opportunities, the individual gets more exposure to live a normal life.And he’s kind of helping his nation by applying the skills he’s learned in other countries. He can develop his nation using the skills he has learned from different nations. So, in this way, the brain drain can also be a positive factor in the development of any nation. In addition, it helps the income of emigrants to return to their country of origin in the form of remittances abroad. India is the recipient of the largest amount of foreign currency as NRI transfers.
Brain drain is a negative factor for the nation but it sometimes helps an individual or a society in a positive way.But we have to think that it is worth it for a nation to send our young doctors, engineers and other talents to migrate and serve other nations and contribute to the economy of the other nation just because we cannot provide. quality education, opportunities and a better standard of living for the nation.
