When Suraj was small , I was not aware about this whole concept of Cloth Diapering. My cousin had vaguely told me about nappies with thick cloth as inserts. I tried to make home made cloth diapers but it did not work out well. Ultimately, I gave up and started using the disposable ones.
Subsequently, I joined a lot of Facebook groups, wherein I first heard about cloth diapers and different queries about them.Curiosity made me research more about them and then I started searching for more about them. Ultimately, when I had Soumya, I was still unsure about using cloth diapers for her. I used cotton nappies the entire day and disposable diapers at night.
Continuous rains in Mumbai were a real mess and a real havoc for all of us. Though we were directly not affected by it, but still drying of clothes was a serious issue in every household. Trust me with 2 kids, clothes magically tend to get wet or soiled every hour. Finally, I decided to get my first cloth diaper. I got it from a local store, but I was unsure of the quality and how to use the same. Ultimately, I was very happy with it because it was easy to clean and dried quicky and could be washed in the machine.
For a brand promotion, I had got another set of diapers as gift. This time, I was finally in love with the cloth diapers and now after ordering half a dozen of them from Amazon, I have switched to cloth diapers during the day. Trust me it has reduced more than half of my laundry load and made it easier to keep the house clean. Soumya and me we both have completed more than two years of our cloth diapering journey and trust me it is one of the best decisions that I had made in her upbrining.
Cloth diaper helps in keeping the baby dry and also does not add to the pollution.I have washed cloth diapers in washing machine, which helps it to dry faster and thus I can reuse the limited set of diapers that I have.
