India is regarded globally as one of the largest nations in terms of population and geography, while being the largest democracy, their are certain elements that define on how much a nation can grow. In other words it an also be said as units for measurement of a nation’s potential to grow.
Ø Natural Resources: Self-sufficiency in natural resources helps in the development of a country. Self-sufficiency in resources allows a nation to develop agriculture including self-sufficiency in food, develop industrial establishments, and build military might. For example countries like USA have self-sufficiency natural resources which help them build self sufficient food supplies and have better economy meanwhile what stops India from being self sufficient in all departments even after having natural resources for dependent of natural resources is the credibility of using the resources to the maximum potential Indian lacs in maximizing the potential of its natural resources which acts as a setback for the country
Ø Population: A country which is inhabited by lazy, illiterate, incompetent, unemployed and unskilled human resources hinders development. Strong, healthy, disciplined, employed, literate and skilled population facilitates development of the country and its national power. Investment in human resource development is an indicator of a state’s commitment to nation building. In terms of population and Power india next Nuvve behind than any other country being the second most populous country throughout the world and most diverse country India has abundant of this resource but the main thing comes the usage of the resources as mentioned earlier as well India lacks to maximize the potential of its population the majority of the population in India workforce is illiterate and unskilled which works has another major impact for India on contrary to its neighbours China which is the world’s most populous country has used population to its advantage by making full use out of it and becoming one of the strongest Nations and a major global player.
Ø Economic and technological Development: The level of economic development also determines national power. It is a means of building military power and welfare and prosperity of people. A developed, healthy, prosperous and growing nation creates an impact at world level. It is able to leverage economic instruments like aid, loan, rewards, trade, and grants for achieving its goals at international level. The United States regularly uses aid and market access to change the behaviour and policies of other states. a nation has many ways to develop economically but one of the major roles is played by Technology and industrialization help in the development of industrial capacity. A country with well-built industrial capacity would have the potential to become a superpower.
The United States of America, Britain, Germany, China, France, and Japan are super and great powers because they possess huge industrial capacities. India with the same raw materials as the USA and Russia is lagging behind in development because of a less developed industrial sector. Technology: A well-developed technological know-how enables human welfare and progress. Technology is significant for industrial development, military development, development of transport and communication, economic and social development. Information technology, nuclear technology, space technology and missile technology have emerged an important sources of power and influence in international relations
In conclusion it can be said that India has all the resources available and potential to become one of the strongest Global players out there and have a major impact on decision making of other Nations and have even much more greater influence on others than it currently has right now but the main problem that lies here is in the maximization of the potential, The leaders of the Nation need to attend to this issue, we don’t need any of the resources, we already have them but what we need is to use them efficiently and in a more sensible manner.
