THE REAL STORY OF MY GRANDPARENTS
It has been several years since my Grandparents died and I still think with tears in my eyes about them every single day. They were my mentors. Their presence in my life and the effect or changes that they had on me will stay with me forever. This story is from the time when my Grandmother was married to my Grandfather. Many parents always want to have a son as their first child. Their thinking is like a boy will take the family’s name forward. A girl will get married and leave the family. We cannot take money from girl but my Grandparents worshipped the Goddess Durga and they thought Girl child blessed the power to defeat the evil like Durga Ma.
My Grandparents wanted their first child to be their baby girl but my Grandmother gave a birth to a son after a year of marriage. After some time of their first son birth, My Grandparents wanted a baby girl but God and Destiny had something different to accept and my Grandmother again gave a birth to a baby boy. My Grandmother did not give up the hope of being a baby girl even after being the second baby boy at that time. She made up her desire to be a baby girl at that time and this cycle of wanted a baby girl and gave birth to baby boy continued till 6th baby boy.
After birth of 6th baby boy, My Grandmother and my Grandfather ended their desire for a baby girl. They had accepted the decision of God and Destiny and they started living their life with 6 male children and became a partner in happiness and sorrow. Six male children moved on in their own life and started spending quality time with their parents and they got job and settled in their life. With the passage of time all the boys got married and now everyone has a baby girl in their house. Even I am one of them. This wish or desire of my Grandparents of having a baby girl was not fulfilled but after they left this world, there are long line of daughters in their child’s house and Child’s Children’s house. The above story is true and real as it is related with my own personal life.
We all know birth and death all in the hand of God. To whom how much to give, when to give, what to give is all in the hands of God. Today Boy and Girl play equal role in each and every profession whether it is related with personal matters or related with professional matters. Today if boy know the meaning of professional in the same way girl also know the meaning of professionalism in much better way. If we treat boy as an asset in the same way girl also treated as an asset. Girls are more educated than boys because some people belief that girl will complete her education and get married and leave the house. She will take care her husband’s permission before spending money. But my suggestion to them is to invest in your daughter’s education so that she becomes a capable to support herself and her family. So everyone should have the desire to have a daughter on today’s date.
I am proud to be daughter of my parents
Thank You.
