Fake Feminism in simple words means that no sex should be treated unequal. They should receive equal treatment from all. But in today’s world a new type of feminism has developed which can be rightly called as Pseudo Feminism or fake feminism.
Fake feminism attempts to reap the social benefits of moderate self-proclaimed feminism while still complying with patriarchal rules that perpetuate gender disparities. Fake feminists make false promises. We can easily see discussion about rape and abuse. But we never hear about fake accusations.
Today when the world is blessed with unlimited internet accessibilities, social media has derogated the actual significance of true feminism. Feminism, which once aimed to strengthen women’s position in education and in other social sectors is now being use to divert the youth by undermining the position of men in society and by abusing them. Today we can identify many cases where women misused their rights to falsely accuse men which later devastated their life. This is one of the negative outcomes of India’s long patriarchal stance. One can easily find the toxic speeches on social media that intend only to corrupt the image of man and the irony is that the so-called feminists see this as the promotion of Indian Women Society.
These pseudo feminists are mostly the social media influencer whose only agenda is to uplift the position of the upper class. They got no idea about the position of rural Indian women. In real, the actual empowerment of women is done by improving their social standards, education, providing jobs, enlightening them about pregnancy, menstrual health and other health related issues.
Recently an absolutely horrifying case was trending in Noida where two girls not only asked a gang of 25-30 goons to beat up the victims brutally over a parking argument but also filed false molestation case on them. One of the victims was declared dead while the other was fighting hard for his life in ICU. In May 2020, the Bois Locker room case generated massive headlines in the media. A girl was sending messages to a boy through his fictional account named Siddharth where she was planning to sexually assault herself. There are numerous cases where women are seen misusing the rights which were advanced to protect them.
None of the so-called feminists came to rescue of the victims. Feminism is a philosophy embraced by the logical and educated people around the world for the upliftment of women. But Pseudo Feminists do more harm than good. Pseudo Feminists see women supremacy over man. It’s not about equality but revenge.
