“History teaches us that the erosion of anyone’s or any group’s basic rights means our own rights are in jeopardy. That’s why ordinary Liberians should care. If we stand by and allow others to be harassed and persecuted for being born the way they are, then our silence is complicity….”

Homosexuality, which has been part and parcel of Indian society since time immemorial. However, it is only recently, that it has been a topic of public discussion. It’s been few years, since the Supreme Court decided to decriminalise the Section, which criminalised homosexuality. Homosexuality is no longer a hidden / buried term, but is now sufficiently apparent and is increasingly being recognised.
Dr. James O’Keefe MD ‘s the famous Cardiologist, who passionately talks on this topic gives us a highly personal and informative insight into why, in fact, homosexuality is an important and enormously beneficial cog in the wheel of perfection in life. O’Keefe shares the story of his own son coming to him and his wife at the age of 18 as a gay man, a moment that left him unable to grasp the science of what attracts a human to the same sex. O’Keefe also came to see that homosexuality is not a fluke of nature. “If this was an evolutionary error, it might have been destroyed by natural selection from the gene pool a long time ago,” says O’Keefe, adding that homosexuality actually enhances the capacity of a population to live as a whole. Homosexuality provides group gains through unique talents and peculiar personality characteristics, “O’Keefe says.” “So there is harm to a society that opposes homosexuality.”
Homosexuality is like a catalyst to help socially connect groups of people together, he says. Therefore, “disapproving gays is sort of like white flour in bread that disapproves of yeast.” It’s also fascinating to dig into the fact that it’s normal by birth and not something we’ve been used to for years.
Depending on a number of conditions that may be present in a woman’s uterus during pregnancy, certain factors may predispose a person to be born homosexual. In other words, because of the special qualities that gay people can add to their communities and communities, evolution intentionally decides to make people gay. Evolution specifies homosexuality at particular times and occasions and endows certain entities with unusual features to make the humans around them prosper.
The continued abuse of the sexual minority is contrary to the order of nature. They are not the people, who need to be cured, abused or ostracised, who are misunderstood or defective. They deserve to be valued and accepted regardless of who they are. They are a part of our society, they’re making our society beautiful!
In certain countries, it is punishable by execution. It’s punishable by incarceration in the Red States. Earlier , In India, since “homosexuality is against the order of nature,” the law says 14 years to live, except that it is not!, but now people are coming terms to this and understanding the reasoning of this and even the Sec 377, which gives the punishment to people who engage in homosexual relations is also decriminalised.
At times and places in particular, evolution prescribes homosexuality and gives these persons special traits that make the people around them flourish. What is in opposition to nature’s order?. There are no people who need to be cured, incarcerated, or ostracised, who are misguided or defective. They deserve to be valued and accepted regardless of who they are. They make us happy. At last, are gays and lesbians important to humanity. “We are much like insects. It is in our variety that we find our mutual strength.”
