Before you all start bashing me, yes I am a priviledged person sitting in my room with my laptop writing this article. But now since you are done bashing me let us talk about the new lockdown and Night Curfew implemented in Mumbai.
Mumbai is one of the worst hit areas around the world. The reason being population explosion and the Mumbai Spirit, which makes us rise even from the ashes like a phoenix. Mumbai has one of the best infrastructures as compared to other cities in the Country, yet it was one of the first cities to be worst effected. It is a city, which has good roads, 24 hours water and electricity, Good stable Internet Connection, Almost all the facilities for working from home and getting things delivered home. I will tell you where we miserably failed in increasing the cases.
A lot of people even today refuse to get vaccinated
There are lot of people still around the city, who have clearly refused to be vaccinated because they believe that the vaccine has side effects. You may have fever or body ache is what I have heard from a few people but then it depends on individual to individual. People are still not convinced that Vaccination is for their own welfare.
Increased rush in Public Places
I stay about 2 kms away from the Beaches at Malad in Mumbai. I have seen 8-10 people travelling in cars on their way back from the beach. There is a huge traffic jam even on Sunday, You are sometimes, stuck at same place for about 20 mins. I am not exaggerating, this is a fact that was true in the pre-covid days and only increased once the lockdown was relaxed in the month of October.
Unwanted venturing outside in public places.
I remember once I had to take my son to the Mall to buy him clothes on a Sunday. The Mall was hyper crowded, which was something new, even before the Lockdown. In Vegetable markets, just to buy one vegetables, women would flock around in groups. The Vegetable Vendors would have a set of their own friends who would stand with them around the stall. There were groups of men, women and children hanging around. Yes, partially I am also responsible for encouraging the second lockdown. A lot of college students would wander around in groups at the beach or Mall to hangout.
That is one of the reasons why we need to implement curfew and reduce venturing outside our homes. As we do not implement it ourselves, we need curfews, so that we are forced to follow this rule.
Aishwarya Says:
I have always been against Glorifying Over Work and therefore, in the year 2021, I have decided to launch this campaign “Balancing Life”and talk about this wrong practice, that we have been following since last few years. I will be talking to and interviewing around 1 lakh people in the coming 2021 and publish their interview regarding their opinion on glamourising Over Work.
