Education is one of the modern and relevant premises when we aim at inculcating civic virtues and values in our society. It becomes the sheer necessity that we try to make our society more liveable by the introduction of better culture and living standards. It is something that is of utmost importance in society. The vices which trouble our daily life will be multiplied fourfold if we lacked the virtues and values severely. Society has taken centuries to form an environment that respects and understand the relevance of ethics and values. Education becomes one of the key roles in modern society for grooming citizens to become responsible in personal and professional life which will overall add up to the growth of the whole human race. The education in itself had evolved much to include these kinds of parameters. The methods of teaching had to travel a long way to where it is now. Many great thinkers had told us about the value of education but it took a lot of time to include the pattern which would produce civilised individuals when educated. One of the greatest known philosopher Plato suggests that education is something which brings justice to the individual and Justice. Plato considered Justice as excellence and conclusively excellence as a virtue. The meaning of these terms varies from the meaning which is used now but the relevance of education remains quite the same. Aristotle, on the other hand, another Greek philosopher had the same opinion about education but he had a different model for imparting it. Aristotle in his explanation tells the ways through which the development of an individual takes place. Several other Philosopher were of the same bent of mind on the inclusion of education in the life of individuals as an important part.

For acquiring civic virtues an individual need responsibility and sophistication and a mind which intent are positive towards its state and society. The values make men understand their stance for society and help them grow and add to the development of the society. The education system nowadays is added with moral teaching and is stressed with the inclusion of pattern which focusses on imparting ethics and virtues to the individuals. It is not completely efficient but it adds up to the growth of individuals. The system should be upgraded with the coming times and more efforts should be put into the development of ethics in the individual through education and making them citizens who are independent and intelligent but with an integrated value system.
