Lifestyle created by covid

When Covid 19 started in March 2020, it was a hard time for everyone, whether rich or poor, it affected us all. While it brought great calamities in our daily life, we also struggled mentally and physically. Some days we feel chipper and feel productive and worked towards it while some days we have struggled just to get out of bed. Life has turned for worse for people who got Covid and suffering has been immense. I don’t know if people would even read this but I am not writing just to publish an article. I feel like writing what I am observe. We see Covid Appropriate Behavior, ads about it and awareness to save our lives and not be carriers of the disease. It saves us and others from physical harm but how do we save us from mental harm and emotional turmoil?

I recently watched few videos about doctors getting beat up and economy getting badly affected with hike in petrol prices, it makes us believe that our country is crippling. In some ways, yes, it is. We don’t feel like our 100% but it is upon us to get out of our negative headspace and do things which will make our lives better.

Back in the beginning of 2020, I was doing better when I would organise and schedule what goals I have to fulfil that day and month. My family and friends binged on so many shows and movies online, needless to say Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Hotstar are the apps in use more than talking to people. We are constantly online, watching reels and making them as well. My best friend Tejal and I made a reel, where we danced and had so much fun together! Reels of cooking, music, sketching and information happening all around the world piqued our interest but there is an increase in hate comments in the posts below. Constructive criticism may be differed but blatant hate comments is seen everywhere, even meme pages!

On the bright side, one of my friends Aashi, even started learning various courses available on Udemy and another one Drishti did an educational course online. I read a few books and sketched whenever I got time from my academics. It was understandable that it was going to be tough to fulfil goals which were focused career wise but there were so many goals which were yet to be achieved and nobody but I could accomplish it. Having set goals to become more fit this year along with studying hard and getting as much practical knowledge as I possibly can muster.

Staying indoors has somehow forced us to have conversations and has brought us closer to our families. Helping them out with chores and laughing while watching shows or movies together has taken a turn for appreciation of the time we spend with our loved ones and given value that despite the situation out there we have all the amenities we could possibly have and for those who have faced loss of loved ones, my deepest condolences to their families. One of my friend lost her parents due to Covid and at times like these, please try to be with them, call them and if possible meet them and support them as much as you can.

In times like these, I have seen many come forward to help ones in need of oxygen cylinders, beds, vaccine and so on. It’s heart-warming and encouraging to know that even though there is crippling economy and healthcare, we all will come together to help our own.
