My First online Class
At present, classes of schools and colleges are conducting on online mode and the schools and colleges providing easy access to course materials, classroom discussions, and feedback to instructors. The course materials and activities may be accessed from any computer or mobile whether it is from the School or University or from the comfort of your own home. Last year I have completed LL.B from West Bengal State University. At that time I have some experience of online classes.
I remembered the day of my first online class. I prepared the set up to attend my first online class. The class begun at the prefixed time . The teacher started the class with the subject “Contract”. The class was conducted on Zoom app. The beginning was quite good but with the advancement of time several problems like audibility of the speech hampered, sometime the class suddenly stopped due to poor network which is still a major problem for those who stays in rural area where network is not that good but apart from that it was quite interesting. After completion of each class , half an hour will be allotted for clearing our doubts where I couldn’t place my doubt before the teacher ,like others as I am not good in taking dictations but later this online class helps me a lot to improve my skill in taking notes . At the end of each subject the course co-ordinator conduct some online quiz which is attracts us to attend each and every online class without any fail.
The actual problem began when some of us got a job in a law firm on full time basis. Maximum time we could not attend our classes. Having a full time job makes it very difficult to schedule your classes. The hours we have scheduled at our job conflict with the times that most classes are offered. When a person has to work full time, it is hard for that person to successfully juggle their job responsibilities along with homework and study but our course co-ordinator helped us a lot by giving certain relaxations so that we can attend the online class after returning from our workplace.
Any student that is interested in taking an online course should do research on the class and speak with the instructor personally before enrolling. Online courses are a great alternative to the student who must hold a full-time job while enrolled in college. Online courses are not only convenient but they teach you how to become a more disciplined scholar and to manage your work on your own. Since you won’t be physically going to class each week, you can take part in class from the comfort of your own home. You must be self-disciplined because the instructor won’t constantly be there to remind you of assignments or of project deadlines.
Initially I faced many hurdles to grasp the thing but later after attending 5 to 6 classes I got accustomed to online classes. Though I have learned a lot from online classes but still I would say my traditional classes are far better than online class. I don’t like this idea of virtual classrooms at all and wish for my schools to reopen soon.
