MY EXPERIENCE OF ONLINE CLASSES

The advent of Covid pandemic has changed the lifestyle of our society. It not only affects our socio and economic life but it also affects our education. Earlier, school going children and college students were involved in the process of direct interaction with their teachers ,but due to online education, their interaction with teachers is curtailed. It has both optimistic and pessimistic impact on the students. It teaches us several new things and it also changes some aspects of our daily habits as well. Internet connectivity is also a big issue in some areas. Internet prices are also increasing and everyone cannot afford online education.

Online education provides freedom to students which are not good for them as it lacks discipline.  Teaching has gone online because of Covid-19. All schools across the globe have closed and over 1.2 billion children are out of school. Online education takes place over the internet. It is also called e-learning.  Here the students access online study materials, join virtual lectures, post questions to teachers, chat with fellow students, give virtual exams and do many more things. Online classes provide a good quality of education to students in the comfort of their homes and also help in controlling virus spread.

The complete shutdown of the education institutions caused a major interruption in the academic year and brought a big gap in the learning for students. However, most of the schools managed to organize online classes for students offering safe learning at their homes. Students have seen lots of changes all of a sudden. Lots of trauma is all around the world. The virus is affecting the economy very badly. All the frontline workers and doctors are putting their lives at stake for society and working day and night to end this pandemic. Students have seen lots of changes all of a sudden. Lots of trauma is all around the world. The virus is affecting the economy very badly. All the frontline workers and doctors are putting their lives at stake for society and working day and night to end this pandemic.

Now, coming to my experience during online classes, first of all I would say that online classes or online education has both positive as well as negative but, it completely depends on all of us that either it is appropriate or inappropriate as per our circumstances. This is because, each one of us is different from the others, the mental and physical capacities of all of us are indifferent. For example, I am more comfortable in offline classes as it allows me  to interact directly with my friends and teachers. Sometimes due to network and connectivity issues I was not able to join that particular class. So, it also causes stress as to why this happens to me. The positive part of online classes was that even in illness, at least I used to listen to the online classes which is not possible in offline classes. I  get to know various new learning due to online classes such as I get to know that how to make online presentation and how to participate in and discuss in webinar and the online seminar and so on.

Attending classes from home while spending time with family is more challenging than attending classes in person at a college. However, e-learning is not a new concept, and it is now gaining popularity as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic. The education department has taken the essential step of converting schooling to a virtual form for the duration of the shutdown. The online learning experience as a student for me has been fine. I sometimes find myself not interested in doing my assignments and I feel like I’m lazy. I still do the assignments, but I sometimes end up turning in my assignments late.

It’s like I’ll do the assignments whenever I feel like doing it. information is much easier to retain when heard rather than simply rushing to read the directions. If I could choose, in the future I would not like to do more online learning because I like having a teacher physically there to help me when I need it. Having a teacher presence helps me focus more on college work, engages me into learning, and the teachers help guide me through the work and are there for any questions I have. Thus, the experience of online classes is fine and I wish to have such things in future also. It was a completely new experience for me.
