In the year 2020 we were hit by the deadly virus named Corona which brought everything to standstill. Never in our wildest dreams also we had dreamt that we would have to be at our homes for such a long time. The pandemic affected everybody in some or the other way be it financially, morally, emotionally etc. The learning groups especially the students had to continue their education online. However online education was the need of the hour in order to continue with the learning process despite all odds. The online education expected us to become tech savvy. Online education was carried on various platforms like zoom, teams, google meet, webex, etc. These platforms proved to be saviours and helped to continue with education in an uninterrupted environment.
Online education certainly saved the travelling time and also contributed to reducing the vehicular pollution. The online mode of education saved the year of study by continuing education through online platforms. Audio video learning method was uniformly implemented and made learning easy. However at the same time students belonging to the rural areas, remote villages faced the connectivity issues and also were burdened monetarily to purchase mobile phones, computers, laptops for the purpose of online learning. Yoga and physical education periods were conducted online to enhance physical growth of the children and refresh them from studies. Thousands of trees were saved as the books were made available online in soft copies.
Nonetheless traditional method of learning was missed the most. The punishments given by teachers, the appreciation by our teachers, the joy of sharing tiffins, the bond of friendship developed in schools and colleges, sports held in schools, farewells for the ultimate year students, etc. Millions of memories that one would cherish life long made in schools and colleges were missed. However most importantly our lives were saved without being risked for the deadly virus.
I have always been against Glorifying Over Work and therefore, in the year 2021, I have decided to launch this campaign “Balancing Life”and talk about this wrong practice, that we have been following since last few years. I will be talking to and interviewing around 1 lakh people in the coming 2021 and publish their interview regarding their opinion on glamourising Over Work.
