Beauty standards are changing era by era. Today everyone wants hourglass figure, big butts’ big boobs, tiny waist. Thin nose, fox eyes, cheek bones, and lifted face is today considered an ideal face. Whereas previously people use to embrace much healthier body with filled cheeks and were considered beauty. So, one can say that definition of beautiful is changing era by era it’s nothing distinct.
Not era by era it also changes country by country a simple example could be American beauty vs Korean beauty. Korean beauty is much about natural makeup and embracing features whereas American beauty is something full face of makeup to an extent it might look like two different faces all together. A definition of beautiful changes country to country and time to time. We cannot put everything in just one single column.
In this world one can, be quite obsessed with their look, to an extent one pays millions of dollars to change their face or get that ideal face. Get many plastic surgeries that can actually be harmful for one’s life, any yet don’t stop. Today a plastic surgery can cost anything from one lakh to five or six lakhs. There are so many types of plastic surgeries like liposuction, breast implants, butt implants, lips augmentation, tummy tucker and etc. all of these plastic surgeries are raising one’s expectation about themselves or about someone they look.
But is this really necessary a plastic surgery as definition for ideal body changes from country to country. A woman in America wants big butts, one easily inspires from Kardashian Jenner family and many more Hollywood celebrities. whereas a woman in Brazil wants a small boobs and round bottoms. BBL (Brazilian butt lift) surgeries have become exceptionally famous and are being practiced by people all around the world. And Women in Venezuela are obsessed with breast enlargement.
Women in Jamaica are obsessed with the desire to achieve a “healthy body” look which is why a woman must be between 70-95 Kgs, to an extent that they have special pills for the same. And women in France want to look exceptionally skinny, Anorexia has become normal in France because of the increasing frequency every day.
Indians want to look fairer and lighter. They have made many fairness creams and lotions for that desired look and have endorsed by old mindsets that still suggest their children to rub turmeric, Multani mitti, and other homemade hacks to lighten the skin. People in U.K are obsessed with tanning their bodies. They use tanning sprays or tanning beds to darken their skin colour and 59% of women apply self-tanner at least 5 times a month.
Beauty can be so important that in many countries women go too extreme to achieve them, like in Myanmar having long neck is considered beautiful, stretched earlobes and a shaved head is a beauty standard in Kenya and other parts of Africa, Māori women sport tattoos in New Zealand. Beauty standards change constantly then why do we still need a particular look to feel beautiful. Some definition of beautiful is completely different from each other in different countries yet people pay millions of dollars to achieve that look, which in long-term as well as short term can be harmful for women. Everyone around the globe is built differently and having just one stencil to define beautiful is something we ourselves have to change. Let’s start accepting and loving ourselves. Flaunting one’s scars can be a step towards actual beauty.
