Pollution is one of those problems in India which is least talked about but is one of the most serious issue we are facing. Pollution is the addition of harmful substances in the environment. It is the process of making land, water, air or other parts of the environment dirty and not safe or suitable to use. Pollution are of different types the pollutants may affect the air, water, soil, and other parts too. In all these types ,air pollution is one of the most dangerous forms of pollution. The effects of air pollution are alarming. It causes global warming, acid rains, respiratory and heart problems. Pollution disturbes the balance of our ecosystems, affect our normal lifestyles and gives rise to human illnesses and global warming. Pollution has reached its peak due to the development and modernization in our lives.
People don’t realize how seriously the pollution affects our health. One third of the deaths in India are caused due to heart attacks, lung cancer, respiratory infection, heart problems which are slowly caused by the air pollutants that give rise to air pollution.
Like humans, animals can suffer from a number of health problems too due to air pollution, including birth defects, reproductive failure, and diseases. Air pollution causes a number of environmental effects in addition to the effects on humans and animals.
Water pollution is a serious threat to humans, animals, and aquatic life. The harmful chemicals released from the industries and which are dumbed in the sea, rivers destroy a number of plants, sea animals etc. It also give rise to water born disease which are harmful for both the humans as well as the animals.
Also, not forgetting about the noise pollution another least talked issue. Noise pollution can cause stress, anxiety, headaches, irritability, hearing loss, and sleep loss which later give rise to serious health issues
Pollution has negatively affected the life of both animals and humans. Protecting the environment is a long and daunting task, for every living person. We can now only protect our enviroment from pollution is by making smart transportation choices, using public transport, walking whenever its possible to walk and avoiding transport. Keeping our lights turned off whenever not in use. Following the formula of reduce, reuse, recycle. By decreasing waste, implementing recycling policies, banning dangerous agricultural chemicals, and developing safe renewable energy we can significantly reduce the amount of pollution going into the environment annually and increase our quality of living.
Let’s start making small efforts to protect our environment from pollution as breathing fresh air is a right of every single individual.
Just by planting tree, shopping wisely by not using plastic bag, conserving water, educating masses to understand the value of our natural resources we can surely protect our Mother nature.
