Poverty In India

Nowadays, poverty is a major problem which is faced by every country. Poverty effects social, economical and political aspects of the country. It creates obstacles in the way of development.

In India, poverty is the main problem which is faced by poor people or unemployed people. People who are below the poverty line do not have enough money to complete there basic needs. Such as clothes and shelter.

The poverty rate is increasing day by day because of the population in urban areas. People who are below poverty line are suffering for their survival.

Poverty in India seen mainly in the rural areas because of less educated and unemployed people. Most of the people don’t even get  a proper food in there daily life.

Some reasons of poverty in India are given below :-

# Unemployment –  It is one of  the main causes of poverty. There are many people who are educated but un employees in our country. There are less jobs and there is discrimination of equal opportunities.

# Social factors :-  The social set up of our nation is backward with the rest of the world . the cast system , Inheriting laws, rigid traditions . These things are putting great hindrance on  the way of development.

# Political factors:- Everyone knows that east India company started lopsided development in India and had reduced our economy to a colonial state. They exploited the natural resources to suite their interests and weaken the industrial base of Indian economy. The development plans have been guided by political interests from the very beginning of our independence.

# regional factors :- India is divided by the in appropriate proportion of poor in some states like Nagaland, Orissa, Bihar and so on. The administration should offer special amenities and discounts to attract private capital investments to back ward regions.

# short rate of economic development- In India, the rate of economics development is very less. What is required for a good level? Therefore, there persists a gap between the level of availability and requirements of goods and services. The net result is poverty.

Steps taken to remove poverty in India :-

Government is main authority to remove poverty. Government should take steps to develop education system. They have to increase jobs opportunities for unemployed people.
