Only the fittest and those who can adapt to the changing circumstances of the World will survive because change is the only thing that is constant in this World.

You may have been a Gold Medalist or a Valedictorian in your college days but that does not mean that you are uptodate with the present world. Sorry to burst your bubble but the time, when you were taking a break, the world moved forward. The World has now adopted to new techniques, new working conditions, new style of working in the last few years. It is important to keep upto the trend and learn new things.

If you still insist on doing your task the way you did it few years ago, you may be out of the race soon. It is important that you adapt to the new practices and new conditions. Adaptability does not mean that you need to forget your identity. Adaptability and Reinventing means changing as per the new requirements.

Some places, where you can redevelop yourself is by first polishing your communication skills. Communication skills play a huge role in your personality. It is important on working on your oral as well as written communication well.

For Example: These days instead of a long phonecall people prefer to communicate even for official purposes over Whatsapp. I know a lot of people, who have not yet got hang of this mode of communication. Yet, it is important that you atleast acknowledge what the front person is trying to communicate instead of getting worked up that the front person did not communicate with you by giving you a call. I do know people, who hold up their ego for such a small thing.

P.S. When you are sending a Whatsapp for official purpose, try and refrain from using slang language as that will definately make you look unprofessional.

Reinventing yourself also means that you need to step out of your comfort zone. Whether it is the way you dress or the way you carry yourself. A small change in your hairstyle once in 6 months or a year can do wonders for your self confidence. Go and buy that a-symetrical Kurti that you wanted to buy. Try the new trendy footwear unless it hurts your feet. Spending some time and minimum amount of money on your appearance can also do wonders on reinventing yourself. Even the biggest brands change the way they look and appeal to their consumers after every few years.

So go ahead and take care of yourself. Keep reinventing yourself for your benefit.
