About Riya,
Hello, my name is Riya Singh and I am 20 years old from Kolkata, West Bengal. Currently I am pursuing my under graduation in BALLB from South Calcutta Law College. I am in my 2nd year. I have completed my schooling from Methodist School, Dankuni. I belong to humanities background.
If I had to describe myself using a few adjectives, I would say: “Optimistic”, “Motivated”, “Self-Disciplined” and “Hard-working”. I have always been intrigued by law, the vast field of knowledge, opportunities, aspects and the diversity of it. I find law to be quite challenging field yet rewarding at the same time. It gives a sense of freedom. Which is I have chosen this field and I am working hard to pursue my dream.
I am also learning French language and I am fluent in three languages which I feel is a great asset for me. I also love reading books of various versatile genre and authors. I love playing sports too, badminton is amongst one of my favourite sports.
As for my plans for the future, in my short-term plans, I would want to learn and gather experience as much as possible from my college, mooting, internships and life in general. For my long-term plan, I would want to explore this field more and more and find out what I can do for the betterment of my society, my surroundings and mine too.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to share a little bit about myself.

I have always been against Glorifying Over Work and therefore, in the year 2021, I have decided to launch this campaign “Balancing Life”and talk about this wrong practice, that we have been following since last few years. I will be talking to and interviewing around 1 lakh people in the coming 2021 and publish their interview regarding their opinion on glamourising Over Work.
