it does really have a great wider scope than any other fields cuz if you even see like a layman, a engineer, a doctor, a journalist is not required everywhere, but a lawyer is always required at every stage of your life. Now days, starting from a small consultations on something and registrations of different things to larger cases. Also, they are required to every business firm of the country, to every govt firm there are posts for a Law student. etc etc etc…..
But the irony is, If you are not better than best at your field of your work, i bet you that you will not be asked anywhere. And again its really not easy to become a professional to be in knowledge of Law cuz it take years to do so.
And see this is the field where after the degree, you need to study and crack the Bar council exam of India so as to get a License to practice as an Advocate.
Do you know who saved our country from the clutches of dirty politicians ? Who did scams of lakh crores ? Who dared to punish rapeist Baba’s despite having too much political shelters. In Jolly LLB Judge says why everybody says I will see you in the court because everyone has faith in Law n order of land n courts. It is judiciary who is saving our country from various off word situations n dared to punish all culprits whether a common offender or at high position.
A person who is Law graduate n opted his career in Law can become successful lawyer in District Courts to Supreme Court of India. Can become Judge in any court.can become successful professor or corporate lawyer or many more. I think future is bright after opting career in Law but rember one has to do lot of hard work to get success in life.
Well there are no shortage of lawyers in India u even find them standing outside the court. But still there is a high scope for genuine lawyers especially criminal lawyers.
Here I would like to give an actual live example. I had a friend during my schooldays who was a fairly bad student. He even failed a number of times in spite of cheating in exams. Today he is one of the leading Income Tax lawyer of the city where he was born because his father was already well known successful Income Tax consultant. He inherited his father’s practice along with all his clients. His assistants are much better lawyers or at least better academically but are forced to work for him because it is difficult for them to establish an independent practice. They do all the work but he gets all the credit and the big bucks.
Off course there are always exceptions. There are genuinely talented and hard working lawyers who struggle a lot in the initial days but ultimately make it good. It is a tough profession but there is always room at the top.
Recently, I read somewhere that even very senior and big firms too do not pay much which is why most of the graduates with integrated five years degrees from reputed colleges prefer to work in the corporate sector which they don’t really ever practice in courts. Sadly they are the most talented but they don’t work in litigation.
One should not forget that Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Vallabhbhai Patel, Bal Gangadhar Tilak etc. were all lawyers.
Once India moves forward there is unlimited opportunities for the young talented hardworking law students . Law is the most dynamic thing and you can shine .
