Self-Love

In India, you will find people more interested in your life than their own. Neighbour Aunties watch your every move like when you go when you return everything and then that becomes their gossip subject. Your one act is equal to their one week of gossip. That’s how our Indian female society works.
This reminds me of one meme which became very popular a while ago. In that, there were many CCTV cameras and at last, there were few aunties. Yes, they are their colony’s camera.

They pass their judgments thinking they are superior. Question you about your dress length and late work timing. But who are they to judge or question? We will do whatever we want. There is no dress length or homecoming time for men. They can even come around society shirtless. But aunties wouldn’t question them. This also comes under a list of bullying.

Bullying only doesn’t happen among friends or school children. Bullying starts at home. Sometimes from our own parents.
According to Wikipedia:
Bullying is the use of force, coercion, hurtful teasing or threat, to abuse, aggressively dominate or intimidate.

If an act fulfils any of the essential listed above then it comes under the category of “Bullying”.

In life, all sort of people will question you, about your choices, way of living. But why? And by what authority? They will judge. But who are they to judge? And why does it bother you even if they do? Love yourself. Love the way you are. Love your, teen acne. Love your facial hairs. Love your unwaxed hand and legs. Love your unthread eyebrows. Your white hairs. Your everything.

This reminds me of two things:
(1) Song that Apple is using in their ads which goes like;
“Can I have a taste of your ice cream?
Can I lick the crumbs from your table?
Can I interfere in your crisis?
No, mind your own business
No, mind your own business”.

(2) A song by Selena Gomez, ‘Who says’ which goes like;
“I wouldn’t wanna be anybody else, hey
You made me insecure
Told me I wasn’t good enough
But who are you to judge?

When you’re a diamond in the rough
I’m sure you got some things
You’d like to change about yourself
But when it comes to me
I wouldn’t want to be anybody else

Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na, na
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na, na

I’m no beauty queen
I’m just beautiful me
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na

Na-na-na-na, na
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na, na

You’ve got every right

To a beautiful life
Come on
Who says, who says you’re not perfect?
Who says you’re not worth it?
Who says you’re the only one that’s hurting?
Trust me, that’s the price of beauty

Who says you’re not pretty?
Who says you’re not beautiful?
Who says?”

If you made it this far, thank you. Ratings and comments are highly acceptable.
