SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media as the word suggests it’s a medium through which one can connect with the society at large. Various social media platforms are available such as facebook, Instagram, hike, messengers, telegram, whatsapp etc which help a person to share his own personal life events with his friends, followers or the community that he or she is a part of. The users of social media range from the younger generation to the elder generations. However the younger generation has already fallen in the trap of so-called socializing which apart from good effects has negatively affected the minds of these children. They get carried away by the influencers on such platforms and without giving a second thought blindly follow them.

Their daily activities include a large portion of time being consumed by the numerous social media applications. This has certainly kept them away from outdoor games and academics. Children have no ability to differentiate between what is wrong and what is right and hence fall prey to various cyber crimes taking place through social media platforms. Parents must monitor the time spent by their children on social media platforms and restrict over use of it. Interactions on personal basis have reduced hence conflict of opinions on various matters have risen. The gap of communication is still conceived.
Apparently social media platforms have proved to be a boon for finding the lost people, things, for sharing one’s talent. Few of the eminent people from various fields take social media platforms to connect with the masses. Easily accessible social media platforms is a blessing to socialize. Many helping hands are discovered for peaceful and smooth functioning of the country. Invitations of weddings, birthdays, celebrations etc are shared on such platforms which eases the task. A few informative platforms help a person in learning new things, exploring the opportunities available and discovering the best of oneself.

However children must be kept away from such platforms till they reach the age of maturity and develop understanding about wrong and right. The elderly must also minimize the use of social media platforms and prefer in person meets and conversations for the exchange of thoughts and opinions.
