Sports means an an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
Sport includes all forms of competitive physical activity or games which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants, and in some cases, entertainment for spectators. Hundreds of sports exist, from those between single contestants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals. In certain sports such as racing, many contestants may compete, simultaneously or consecutively, with one winner; in others, the contest is between two sides, each attempting to exceed the other.

FREEDOM
I remember when I was in school, me and my friends used to wait for the sports class, where we used to play football, cricket etc.Strangely it was the most enjoyable and most entertaining of all the memories I have in school days.
INNOCENCE
I used to be the one who had cricket stumps so I used to carry those stumps on the base of my scooter and pasted pakistani players sticker on the stumps to hit them as a bowler (bold).
I told my mom after playing football for the first time in 4th standard that I scored two points today instead of saying two goals thinking that she might not be knowing what a goal is ? But I was wrong because everyone actually knows the game.
LEARN ON THE FIELD
The opportunity to fight and lead a team ,utilize different strategies gives us different learning experiences .The excitement and the thrill that a sports gives is unparallel and more than than solving a maths problem.I used to keep a diary of wickets I took in the matches and wins that my team to improve and analyize my performance
SPORTS IS FOR ALL
The involvement in sports need not be physically demanding that a senior citizen or a toddler can’t play. When I used to visit my native place in Midnapore, West Bengal one of the way to utilize time was playing sports.I used to play badminton with my grandmother. my cousin who is just 6 years old does swimming with me.
INSPIRATION
Dhoni scored 0 in his first match.A failed debut but with a batting average of 50+ at 6th position is commandable job, world’s best finisher giving us hope all’s well that ends well.Tendulkar took around 78 matches to score his first ODI Hundred ended up having 100 100s giving us a message to work hard and every sweat drop by drop will one day bring out the desired results.
Recently Nadal and Federer have made comeback are winning tournaments giving us a message to never loose hope and age is just a number.
LIMITS AND UNCERTAINITIES
A game of sports taught me that at times in life things are beyond our control as dhoni says cricket is a great leveller.its not always about wins but about learning from failures. Its not about the fall but about bouncing back.
When I went for a 5km radio mirchi half marathon run, I realized the fitness and stamina it demands.Your body want to stop but your mind says keep running. There is a mental battle we need to overcome and hunger to win should exceed all other priorities at that moment.
History, therefore, is not decisive in helping us to characterize what a game truly is, maybe bringing up a larger number of issues than it answers. Initially, sport was as likely to refer to a trip to the theatre as it was to a session of football, and over the hundreds of years the accentuation has moved from fun loving entertainment, to chasing, to group diversions. In the present day world, the status of games is regularly chosen by official bodies, all of which have their own particular arrangements of principles and criteria. Consideration in the immeasurably essential Olympic Games is regularly viewed as a characterizing factor, with new occasions introduced and others rejected like clockwork. The level headed discussion, it appears, is bound to seethe on, and the meaning of game set to be changed over and over, as it has been for almost 600 years.
A sport is where there is an individual or a team event where more points are scored or someone is faster, stronger, jumps higher, further, throws something further, higher etc, scores more points – goals etc. A sport is not where a panel of judges are involved – ice skating, ice dancing., diving, gymnastics, and so on. My main hate – apart from rhythmic gymnastics – synchronized swimming. How is that a sport? Do not get me started on butterfly. Invented to stop people cheating at breaststroke. Put me in charge of the Olympics so many other events would hit the dust.
