Suffocation of the Proletariats

I’m sure many of you reading this would have been at least once suffocated by masks in some showroom or enclosed shops. This suffocation is due to the showroom owners wanting to save money on electricity bills. They sit in their own ac offices and homes but asphyxiate their workers in the so called malls and posh shops.

This isn’t a rant post but an analysis of capitalism and its effect on our minds and life. It is more deep than we have ever thought of it. This suffocation is of capitalism over the proletariats. The elite have the capacity and money to dictate their ideas. The working class have no say whether they like or dislike something. Because their job which feeds their family is at stake.

Such attitude is not new. The mindset of elitism is rooted in privilege. We often hear the word privelege but do we really know what privelege is? Privilege is if you have extra food at home to feed more than your family, privelege is to still buy things you may not even need even though you didn’t earn much amidst covid crises. Privelege is ease. But a greater disease is arrogance of elitist lifestyle.

I’m not favouring other ideologies like communism or socialism completely. But I want to highlight the contradictions of the upper elite class that define the lives of most of the population, in not just India but the whole world.

The spirit of giving is rendered under the spirit of public service. Giving is the satisfaction of the conscious mind, the inner self. It doesn’t mean arrogance. In giving there is peace, and no place for arrogance remains. Sharing the wealth and resources that life blesses you with is an honour to be considered without any malice.

Many religions of the world speak of giving a part of their income in alms and render service to the community at large. In India we witness the mass philanthropy done by the Sikh community through free food i.e. langar service and seva i.e. service without any differences. Eminent personalities like Sonu sood in India have helped migrants and needy people amidst covid crises like an angel.

Such acts are an epitome of service. Service that mankind is service to God, was propounded by Swami Vivekananda. Which stands true to the tests of time. We must realise that there are no pockets in a grave. No one takes anything to their graves. Nothing remains but good deeds and memories when one dies.

We must realise than mankind has to rise above inequalities and stop oppressing just because they can. The idea of subtle repression is as bad as physical or verbal oppression. Human rights and class differences must not remain till books only, we must adopt and adapt to changes. It’s highly time . The current pandemic had taught us the value of human relationships and made us abhor isolation.

Capitalism must remain till business and not enter personal lives and quality of life of the masses. Voice of India lies in the masses and the power of the masses mustn’t be underestimated, ever.
