The start-up opened up in 2019 with an aim to provide cold storage solutions to farmers at a feasible cost. Tan90 is a thermal management company providing energy-efficient and cost-effective thermal solutions to businesses. Founders of Tan90 are Shiv Sharma, Rajnikant Rai and Dr. Soumalya Mukherjee.  The start-up works in a B2B market where it supports the small enterprise, medium enterprises and start-ups. Their products are demanded in the segment of AgroTech, FoodTech and Hardware. The major investors are CIIE[1] and Social Alpha The team started with the field work as their first step. The research began in the state of Tamil Nadu where they talked to several farmers and identified their problems. The farmers from that region still relied on the old traditional methods of cold storage that included gel packs, ice, expensive reefer trucks and rudimentary ice boxes.

They observed how important cold chains are for storing and transporting farm grown like vegetables, fruits as well as meat and fish. The farmers were not contended with these old storage solutions but they had no other option else than to continue doing it in absence of an alternative and more modern method. This was the opportunity Tan90 grabbed and with their exemplary mindset and engineering skills, they developed thermal solutions that caters to the needs of the customers.

Step up to the challenge- Tan90 started on the motto to ease the troubles of farmers in terms of cold chains. The aim is to reduce carbon footprint with the energy effective solutions and a surrounding economy that can implemented in their operations.

Round peg in a square hole- The startup welcomes individuals who take risks in life. It is believed that without risks, probability of success is minimalistic.

Efficiency- Efficiency is their work ethic that is shown not only in their products but also tin their routinely operations. To support it with an example, the start-up was never shut even during the lockdown. It was working actively to help businesses and farmers with their cold storages.
