“Dream is not one which you see while sleeping, but the one which does not let you sleep”.
These golden words define what I dream actually is like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir, I too believe in above philosophy. I dream for India. I dream of my India. India, mother India, crowned by Himalayas; adorned by various rivers by their Shimmery beauty; embedded by vast stretches of
forest and revered by feet clearing Indian ocean is the precursor of today’s civilization. But it has changed drastically. From the world master to a mastered world. From a golden sparrow to a beggar. From Bharat to India. This induced me to dream.
I dream India of a nation with no streak of poverty but pounds of prosperity. With the inception of colonial era, our country entered into a phase of raids which drained our wealth like water from an open tap. To provide prosperity we need to have a strong economy. Government
has launched several schemes like “MAKE IN INDIA” but we need to be self-contained as well. GST and Demonetization have put a huge splat on our economy but they have put a step forward to curb corruption too.
It is important to note that corruption termite has hallowed our country and led to increased poverty.
Poverty has boosted caste discrimination, a unique feature of Indian society that exist since time immemorial. This has been addressed in the constitution also by providing reservation. This policy initially worked well but as excess of everything is bad, after a certain period it
proved itself a bone. How can a country develop when all its people are striving to prove themselves backward? In my view, the policy should be replaced by scholarships. Hence, ending caste discrimination is the first step to achieve my dream.
Another facet to be considered here is education, which can effectively contribute to curb poverty. However, education should be skill oriented and here revival of ancient heritage proves fruitful. India is that country which mastered all subjects when western civilizations did not even exist. Looking into ancient texts like Vedas can help today’s education. So, developing heritage will prove my dream into reality.
Along with this environment conservation is necessary given the fact that forest area in India is just 23% and global warming is burning the earth. We should start afforestation and motivate others to do it as well. However, all this is not possible without unison. “A chain is no longer a
chain even if a link is broken.” We all should be united. We all should be good Samaritan helping each other at time and difficulty like accident. This spirit should be involved in each citizen to help victims of catastrophe and not just to click pictures and shoot videos. This is not the Indian soul.
At last, I dream India as a prosperous, literate, economically, sound, public- spirited, egalitarian, green and united nation. I want to contribute to fulfill my dream either as a social worker or civil servant. I am sure that this envisioned India will once become as reality.
