today’s youth…

As we know that youth are the assets of the nation and society. Youth is that force of the nation who can govern every system of society and the nation.

Youth are basically the backbone of our country. Now as we see that today, they are not being given more importance, they have not being made an integrated part of the administration system. Youth of today’s are to become a responsible citizen of the country who are lead to the whole world. So taking in consideration youth must be placed at good position for considering problems of the society and family.

To sum up, i would like to say that youth must be respected and regarded equally as the adult member of the society. Wisdom and suggestion of the youth must be welcomed and regarded. Our future is in the hands of our youth. So this must be understood well

I think that without a phone or other mobile device, they’d likely be lost quite easily especially when arriving in a new city or town. They appear to think that a sixty year old bus driver during rush hour is somehow going to stop the entire bus because someone comes up to show them a google map who can’t speak the native language (who’s lived there for about a year) can’t understand how or where to go because they don’t know where their stop is. They seem to consider themselves pretty self important.

The youth today appear to know everything. They have all the ‘knowledge’ available to them through Google and Wikipedia, why even bother going to school? Oh wait, that’s probably because you can’t find the key answers online, you have to study and learn through experience. Lazy.

Not all of them are like this though, I had one student a year and a half ago who came from a troubled home and worked his ass off in university. He took it upon himself to figure out the answers AND lead his senior year team project not to mention having another project on the side which was successful. He appears to be the rarity.

Most of them take everything for granted. Take away their internet and they’d be simply lost. They romp around cities and towns like they own the place and why wouldn’t they? They already know everything that is to be known, but they lack serious ambition and things should be handed to them easily and without fuss. I don’t think most of them really understand what hard work or hard labor is. While they could easily Google it, it still wouldn’t make much of a change in their lives. For example, they complain easily when given hard homework or special difficult projects directed towards them and take it as some personal offense without considering that maybe they have a certain skill-set that needs to be pushed so to make the best of themselves.

I do remember being a kid and a young adult and while I did act out, I certainly don’t recall behaving in such as way and disrespecting others as the youth does now. People can’t have conversations without being interrupted by a text message or someone’s Facebook update, they are so critically important where conversations need to be halted because someone calls to see if they’ve seen the latest picture posted of them having a hamburger. Seriously?!

I suppose that without constant access to the internet, they’d be lost and would be unable to figure anything out on their own and they’d be sad candidates for any social conversation. I do have a teenage daughter as well who seems to have a fifth limb called “the phone” and it bothers me to no end

Today’s youth is much more politically and socially aware than the previous generations due to the smooth and fast influx of information made possible by the interweb.

I have observed that life goals of today’s youth showed a shift away from those related to intrinsic values, like developing a meaningful philosophy of life, towards more extrinsic ones such as being well-off materialistically.

Compared to old generation, youngsters view goals concerned with money, fame and image as more important, and goals concerned with self-acceptance, affiliation, and community are considered as less important.

It’s common for older generations to paint youth in a negative light as lazy and self-absorbed, for example which can perpetuate stereotypes. It can be easy to forget what it’s like to grow up.Youth today are like they were 30 years ago. They’re trying to find their place in the world, they’re trying to carve out an identity, and it can be difficult. But now challenges are different. They relate their identity with growing competition and their belief in “survival of the fittest” sometimes tempt them to compromise their deeper values for this.

I believe that maturity will come with time, but in order for that maturity to translate into real experience that allows an individual to make use of all the tools and benefits requires mentoring from a older generation to fill the void of wisdom acquired through their experience. This would provide young individuals necessary skillset to optimise their courage, inquisitiveness by inculcating patience and understanding of the natural process of growing up.

Generation of today resist control. They are confident with little wisdom. They possess ‘fresh eyes’ that can make them invaluable and subject to underestimation. They are given enough respect and freedom by their parents/superiors to act independently and unobserved. They break rules, get into trouble and are more concerned with how others view them. They have access to more distractions. They may act with greater choices in everything and consumerism cause the exposure to a larger selection of products than any other generation. They may carry out actions with the express purpose of having the entire planet see them. They will use with ease technologies that the older generations gradually lose ability with/lack familiarity with.

Today’s youth have access to infinite knowledge. However, having more information does not make you more intelligent.Being able to use the information to create something new is intelligent.

Most young people, however, do not understand how their faith can be meaningful in their everyday lives. They may have been told faith in religion or life’s values which can result in eternal happy life and involves a call to right living. But most of them see little correlation between what they believe (about God, truth, life’s lessons) and their relationships with friends and family, or their future in life. But that presents a golden opportunity to older generation.Mature generation can demonstrate to youngsters not only what is objectively true about the faith, but also how it can be relationally meaningful to their lives.

Therefore, older generation task is to present the faith to young people in ways that demonstrate believing is an intelligent exercise of knowing what is objectively true and experiencing it relationally. When they play their part, youth will begin to develop deep convictions that will make them strong, even in the face of today’s challenges.Ideally that would be the most evolved human species with the right and moderate blend of desirable attributes to succeed as an individual in their professional as well as personal lives .

In my opinion, the youth of today have some enormous opportunities or excellent avenues, thrown open to them by the improved technology and growing economy, which were not available to the youth of earlier generations. On the flip side, the youth of today face a far greater pressure to succeed ,and also suffer a higher degree of stress due to the crumbling support systems, which, the youth of earlier generations did not have to contend with. Actually, what I expected was a healthy, informed and holistic discourse on these lines, but the fact is, the best is yet to come.
