When we plant a tree, we don’t just plant a sapling but hope. When we hear trees all what we remember is about the environment’s green lungs. We’ve been hearing about this term since the initial stages of our lives and some of us undoubtedly took it seriously and have provided the nature its life extension. Trees help to combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, removing and storing carbon while releasing oxygen back into the air. we were introduced to something called “afforestation”, a simple process of planting more trees for a better future.
They also reduce wind speeds and cool the air as they lose moisture and reflect heat upwards from their leaves. It’s estimated that trees can reduce the temperature in a city by up to 7°C. it has been proven as a natural cleansing agent for the environment.
Tree plantation is the simplest thing one can do in all their life. Trees are also considered to be the beauty of nature. It soothes not just the environment but also people’s minds. It gives the good vibes of living and not only the freshness but also it is a home to n number of species. Also as we all know that it even provides with food and various medicines. It provides with a pollution free environment. Trees are said to be human’s best friend for such specific reasons. The Constitution under Part IVA (Art 51A-Fundamental Duties) casts a duty on every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures. Further, the Constitution of India under Part IV (Art 48A-Directive Principles of State Policies) stipulates that the State shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard the forests and wildlife of the country. Some of the important legislations for environment protection are as follows:
- The National Green Tribunal Act, 2010
- The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981
- The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974
- The Environment Protection Act, 1986
- The Hazardous Waste Management Regulations
Generally late August, September and October is the best time for tree plantation. Many of us would have come across people who say that what we give to the environment, we would get exactly the same which has been clearly proven in this pandemic. What are humans ready to pay anything for during corona period? Oxygen it is, the most freely available thing has come to extinct. Here, in my article I’m not referring to any particular individual, it is all in general.
In order to live a healthy life ahead and trees being the most essential part of the nature we need to see to it that the nature has been taken utmost care of. It will always pay back the humans either in good terms or vice versa.
So I would conclude my article by saying that, we can all save trees by just doing some absolute small things like not wasting papers, borrow books or donate it or give it simply for the recycling.
