In the last 10 years of my professional life, I have restarted my career atleast thrice. I do not claim to be an expert on this subject, neither am I a sucessful super hotshot. I am still a struggling woman, whose dreams and desires keep on increasing day by day. Professionally speaking, I am a Lawyer and an Enterpreneur.
I am glad that I am much more accomplished than I was last year. I am trying hard to keep myself away from all the comparison and competition and breaking every stereotype that has been set by the society. That itself is a big challenge for me. I do get inspired by every other person, I meet and aspire to be like them. I do analyse my strength, weakenss and limitation before I implement my aspiration.
When I wanted to enter this challenge, I wasn’t sure about the topic. I had shortlisted a lot of topics for the same but somehow, I ended up selecting this topic. Restarting my Career has been the biggest challenge for me and also life changing aspect.
I always had a dream, to have my own career. I loved children since childhood, but I wasn’t sure that I could ever become a mother. Playing with your neighbours children and having your own children is entirely different.
When my son was born, I was completely overwhelmed, partly because of my overthinking and partly because I let everyone around me dictate to me, how to lead my life. Nobody, told me that the emotional Turmoil that I was going through was absolutely normal. I have given birth to another tiny human being and therefore my body would react in a certain way. But the society was hell bent on making me fit into mould that they had already created for me.
I was scared I would have to give up on my dreams.
It was like killing my first child because I had to save my second child. My friends were unmarried so they barely understood my problems. I wasted almost 3 years of my life in all this confusion until I rekindled my love for writing once again.
My hobby save me, in this A2Zchallenge, I will be writing about all those things that I hope somebody had told me before. I hope we do not loose more professional women and men, who are scared to chase their dreams.
The society will not leave any chance to make you feel guilty for the choices that you make. So, just ignore the society, be wise and smart. Just rise and shine and touch the sky. Stop being apologetic for your choices. It is your choice, that you consciously made for your life. Dust yourself, gather yourself because bigger challenges in life await you. You just have one lifetime, live it unapologetically.
The idea behind this series is somewhat to make up for the time that I have lost. I know that is technically not possible and that I should not live in the past. But somehow only your past mistakes will teach you on dealing with the future circumstances.
Having dreams or passion is not a crime. It is something that makes you. It is something that drives you to wake up. If the society calls you names, ignore them. No matter how perfect or successful you are, they are always going to find out flaws in you and call you names. Master the Art of Ignoring them. There will be sufficient obstacles in your life, so do not walk towards creating new obstacles in life.
This series will talk about the unspoken factors on restarting your career such as Role of Age, Tips on how to Ignore the Society, Balancing Family and Career together.
Remember that you are a human being and you are bound to be flawed. It is beautiful to be a Flawed Human Being. The Concept of Women being Super Heroes and Multitaskers from birth is all crap. The society has fed it into our minds. Just like women, men can also multi task if they are taught like us since childhood. No role is gender defined.
I hope reading the content of this series will help you to live your life unapologetically. That is the reason why I call this series #UnapologeticMe
