Here is my second Campaign Supporter. Radha Ramnath, a 37 year old Music Teacher and a Freelance Party Host from Mumbai. She also runs a Music Jamming Group called The Sunday Jammers along with her friend Gokul.
What is your official office hours?
As of now, I am only running an activation for Music Enthusiasts called Music Mein No Curfew. Not much happening as far as school or hosting is concerned.
How many hours do you spend at Work?
Presently, the schedule is not too good.. so, I am in the process of putting down a time table for myself where I can work around learning something new. The work around The Sunday Jammers initiative is there, but isn’t so taxing. Housework does take away lot of time because I have 2 kids. Fil is a dialysis patient. Everyone has different preferences as far as food goes. So, yes, I am considering even the house work as work actually because a lot of time goes behind that too.
When did you first hear about Periods and from whom?
I heard it from my school friends. I was in my 5th standard. I was pretty curious to know more after 2 of my classmates shared their experiences.
What do you know about PCOD?
Hormonal disorder that may me caused due to several factors. Stress / Mental health / food & lifestyle changes being some of the top reasons. And, PCOD can happen to anyone… not just to those who are yet to conceive & are trying to bear a child.. but even post pregnancy.
Is PCOD treatable ?
Certainly. Dietary changes tops the list wrt reversing. Dedication is needed for sure. Naturopathy, Whole food plant based diet teamed with exercises helps.
Are women with PCOD unable to conceive ?
As far as what I have seen and understood, gynaecs say, once patients have the necessary tablets & pcod is under control, with help, women can conceive. But, I have a classic example in my house, close relative who reversed this with naturopathy.. and conceived.
What is your definition of smart work ?
My idea of smart work is finishing tasks keeping the smart phones aside. On a serious note, smart work is planning your time well given the present condition so that one finishes maximum & also ensures that one finds time to pursue hobbies, good sleep (good 6 to 7 hours of sleep).
I am interviewing a few people, to check how much awareness, they have about PCOD.
Through this campaign, I am not asking that women working in corporates need to be sent home early. I am simply saying that men and women, working in Corporates, need to be sent home early without completing their jobs. I am just saying that men and women need to work more effeciently, so that we are able to wind up our day earlier. Technically speaking, it is of no use, women reaching home early and men reaching home late, because the kitchen closes only when the last person has their meal at home.
It may seem a simple but illogical change at present, but together if we can bring this change, which is quiet possible in our society. It will bring a huge change in all of our lives.
